Saturday Sept. 9th, 5:30pm & Sunday Sept. 10th, 8:30 and 11am
Join us the weekend of September 9/10th, as we celebrate the start of a great year of Sunday School and rejoice in Jesus and His never-ending presence in our lives. All students and teachers will receive a gift during our worship services this weekend and will be invited to come forward and receive a blessing for the upcoming school year.
Resurrection offers Sunday School year-round.
Children's Sunday School
Our curriculum for this year is “Growing In Christ” published by Concordia Publishing House. Students will learn many of the major stories from both the Old and New Testament. They will see how God weaves His plan of salvation in Christ through the lives of ordinary men, women, and children.
Our lessons have a strong focus on the heart and center of the entire Bible. Each lesson reveals our failings as human beings and God's forgiving mercy. There is a connection made in each lesson with Scripture and our daily lives, and at the same time, nurturing faith in our loving and forgiving Savior. The lessons offer motivating and varied activities that engage students in meaningful and relevant interaction with God's Word.
There are components in each lesson to guide teachers to achieve the important weekly goals. A Bible story based on specific scripture is read, retold by the children and discussed. Key concepts are identified and applied to everyday life situations. Sharing prayer together is also a very important part of each lesson. It is vital that children learn to pray and establish their own relationship and communication with our Lord and Savior.
We want our children to understand the wise, forgiving, steadfast, loving nature of our Heavenly Father. With this, they will be prepared to meet any challenge they may face. We want them to feel the peacefulness, love, and joy that come only through knowing our Lord and Savior. Our teachers give their best to establish a classroom that is welcoming to all. The classroom is a place where learning is enjoyable and all feel comfortable participating, sharing thoughts and asking questions.
Parents and teachers working together always establish a winning team. The concepts we teach in Sunday School richly enhances the many valuable lessons parents teach at home each day. By uniting our efforts, our children will establish a strong faith that will support and guide them every day of their lives. What they learn at Church, Sunday School and at home is our legacy. It is the most important teaching we will ever do.
High School Youth Forum
High School students gather together to learn from God's Word every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. Come enjoy bagels or donuts, and dive in head first to the Bible. You'll be with people who don't have it all figured out yet, but are willing to wrestle with what God asks of us, be challenged by it, and be open to grow in faith.
Sunday morning Bible study for adults explores various books of the Bible, from the Old and New Testaments. Plan to meet with us in the gym at 10 a.m. for an adventure story unlike any other.
