Youth on Mission

JUNE 27 - JULY 3 (Sat-Fri)  - HARRISBURG PA

 

Join with Youth and Adults from our church to serve the people in the community of Harrisburg. We've visited this site in the past, and it's always great to reconnect with old friends, and form new relationships as we reach out in the Love of Christ our Lord. Mission Trip Quick Facts

 

June 27 – July 3 (Saturday to Friday)

  • Saturday – Day at Hershey Park. Spend the Night at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hershey PA
  • Sunday – Worship at Holy Trinity. Afternoon Activity. Arrive at worksite, Harrisburg PA
  • Monday-Thursday – Work Days. Home Cleanup/repair, kids camp, food banks, etc.
  • Friday – Leave PA/Arrive NY

Who Can Go?

All current Confirmation Students – High School Students. We try to stick to a ratio of 1 adult for every 8 students. There will be at least 1 adult male and 1 adult female chaperone.

 

How Much Does it Cost?

It costs $389 per person. This covers transportation, Hershey Park Ticket, Sunday Activity, Registration, meals and lodging during the week. It is suggested to bring an additional $100 for food during travel days, and for souvenirs.

 

What Do We Do?

Quite simply - we go to serve! We help residents around Harrisburg with whatever needs they may have.

Our Mission Trip is hosted and led by Youthworks - a youth ministry organization out of Minneapolis. They have trained staff that lead students every week of the summer. They establish relationships with local organizations and residents and set projects up in advance. They always do a thorough job of insuring the projects are safe and appropriate.

Projects range from yardwork, painting, visiting the elderly, food collection & distribution, and helping to run a kids camp! You’ll never know what’s in store next - and that’s part of the fun!

 

I’m Interested! Now What?

Fill out the registration form. You will be sent the necessary paperwork to fill out. First payment of $150 is due on April 15th. Final payment of $239 is due June 1st.  We will have a few Mission Trip meetings before we depart which you will be expected to participate in.
